FAQ's about Grace Covenant

When do you meet?

Morning worship is held every Sunday at 9:30am, usually followed by snacks and fellowship until Sunday School begins at 11:00am.

What do I do with my children?

We at GCPC love children and are very happy for children to join us in our worship services. We recognize that very young children and their parents may not be ready for this, so we provide nursery for ages 0-4 years old. Additionally, we provide children's bulletins for older children in the congregation; these are located on the table by the front door in our lobby.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code at Grace Covenant, so don't let clothes keep you away! You'll see women in dresses and pants, some men in coats and ties or even jeans. You are more important to us than your clothes!

What kind of 'Presbyterian' are you?

We are a young congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, (PCA), a denomination whose core beliefs are summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith, (along with the Catechisms). The PCA was established in 1973 by a number of like-minded congregations seeking a denomination that was devoted to the authority of Scripture and the proclamation of the gospel to the nations.

What is worship like?

We believe that the Bible regulates how we worship God. The elements of our worship services have been revealed to us in Holy Scripture. We read the Bible, sing the Bible, preach the Bible, and pray the Bible. We are committed to expository preaching, going through books of the Bible, context by context. Additionally, we follow a fairly historic and traditional liturgy. We believe worship should reflect a conversation between God and his people; a conversation that will rehearse the logical order of the gospel itself - God's holiness and initiation, man's sinfulness and response, and the free offer of Christ for salvation and spiritual growth.

Our music is a blend of rich traditional hymns and newer songs of praise. We sing biblically sound, theologically rich songs from the past and the present. Songs are chosen for their content and their place in the service, not based on their age. We are assisted by a pianist and vocalists from our congregation, occasionally joined by other instruments.

We celebrate the sacrament of the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday morning of each month.

What is Prayer & Praise?

On the first Sunday of every month, instead of Sunday school at 11:00am, we gather for Prayer & Praise. We use this time to vocalize our prayer requests as a congregation as well as lift up our specific praises to God. All ages are encouraged to stay and participate!
