At Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, we believe that corporate worship is the pinnacle of every week. We gather at 9:30 AM each Sunday morning and are grateful to be meeting in our newly renovated building at 1432 Freeman Avenue.

What does worship at Grace Covenant look like?

God’s Word is Central

Visit Grace Covenant and you’ll quickly notice a high concentration of God’s Word in our worship service. We believe, as Presbyterians have for centuries, that the Bible regulates how we worship God. Who would know better how God ought to be worshipped than God himself? The elements of our worship services have been revealed to us in Holy Scripture; we don’t just make them up. Another way to say that is we read the Bible, sing the Bible, preach the Bible, and pray the Bible.

We are committed to expository preaching, going through books of the Bible, context by context. While we may occasionally preach topical sermons or series, that will most likely be the exception and not the rule.

We Follow a Gospel-Logic Dialog

We follow a fairly historic and traditional liturgy. That is, the order in which we structure the elements of worship is not new; it is grounded in what what we call “gospel-logic dialogue”. In other words, it’s our view that the order of worship should reflect a conversation between God and his people, a conversation that will rehearse the logical order of the gospel itself - God’s holiness and initiation, man’s sinfulness and response, and the free offer of Christ for salvation and spiritual growth.

We Enjoy Gospel-Robust Community

If you are looking for deep and meaningful friendships, a community that pursues the lost and welcomes the outsider, and a congregation that has a hunger for God’s Word and prayer, you will certainly find this at Grace Covenant. We are a friendly and welcoming group and will do our best to make you and your family feel at home as soon as possible.

We Sing Gospel-Rich Music

You won’t hear us talking about traditional or contemporary worship. Those words can be misleading and unclear; they aren’t very easily definable. We sing biblically sound, theologically rich songs from the past and the present. We sing old hymns in their original tune setting. We sing old hymns put to new tunes. We sing new hymns. We sing newer worship songs. The point is that, in each case, the songs are chosen for their content and their place in the service and not based on their age.

We encourage multi-age participation

Children are very much a part of our worshiping community at Grace Covenant. Since corporate worship is one of the means God uses to teach us about himself, we are very happy for children to join us in our worship services. On any given Sunday you will see children participating in worship, in age appropriate ways, with the rest of the congregation.

We recognize that very young children (and their parents!) may not be ready for this, so we provide a nursery for ages 0-4 years old.

Join us For Prayer & Praise

Church-wide Prayer and Praise meets on the first Sunday morning of each month, during the Sunday school hour. We have snacks and coffee available after worship, and begin P&P promptly at 11:00am. All ages are encouraged to stay and participate! We love having the children join us with their families during this time of corporate prayer.
